How can I modify PHP settings (like safe mode on/off) for my hosting account?

To change PHP settings on cPanel hosting accounts, you will need to upload a .htaccess file.
 
Please note that not every PHP setting can be changed in .htaccess, unlike in php.ini. In .htaccess, only user settings can be changed.
